This Cookie Policy explains how Arjang Consulting LLC, operating as Novalingo ("Novalingo," "we," "us," or "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites, web-based surfaces, embedded player pages, mobile applications, and related services.

Read this policy together with our Privacy Policy.

1. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local and session storage, software development kits (SDKs), app-instance and installation identifiers, device storage, pixels, tags, logs, and embedded third-party technologies.

These technologies can operate requested features, remember settings, keep services secure, measure performance, diagnose errors, and provide embedded content.

2. Technologies Used in the Mobile App

Mobile applications generally do not use browser cookies in the same way as websites. The Novalingo app and its providers may instead use:

Firebase installation, app-instance, Mixpanel distinct, account, or anonymous identifiers.
Local device storage for settings, saved words, history, preferences, authentication state, and feature state.
SDK telemetry for authentication, analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, remote configuration, AI features, and security.
Network and security logs containing device, app, IP address, endpoint, timing, status, or error information.

The launch version does not offer subscriptions or use an advertising SDK to serve third-party ads.

3. Why We Use These Technologies

Strictly Necessary

These technologies are required to provide a feature you request or to protect the Service. They may support authentication, security, fraud prevention, network routing, load balancing, consent records, and saving essential session state.

Where law permits, strictly necessary technologies may operate without consent because the requested service cannot work without them.

Functional

These technologies remember choices such as language, playback, display, app, or privacy preferences. Blocking them may cause a preference to be lost or a feature to work differently.

Analytics and Performance

These technologies help us understand use and improve reliability. They may process page or screen views, interactions, session activity, app and browser details, approximate region, referrer, errors, crashes, latency, and performance measurements.

We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Mixpanel for app analytics, and Google diagnostic services on relevant launch surfaces. We do not use this information for third-party targeted advertising at launch.

Where applicable law requires consent for analytics or similar device access, these technologies must remain disabled until you consent.

Embedded Content

The Service embeds YouTube content. Loading or using the player may allow YouTube or Google to use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, IP address, playback information, or similar technologies under their own policies.

Novalingo uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed host where technically appropriate, but YouTube or Google may still process information when a player loads or a video plays. See the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.

4. No Novalingo Third-Party Advertising at Launch

Novalingo does not use advertising cookies or a mobile advertising SDK to serve third-party advertisements at launch. YouTube may independently display advertisements as part of its embedded service.

If we introduce third-party advertising, personalized advertising, or advertising measurement later, we will update this policy and provide required consent and opt-out controls before enabling those technologies.

5. Providers

Depending on the surface and feature you use, technologies may be operated by:

Novalingo and our hosting, security, storage, content-delivery, email, and support providers.
Google Firebase for authentication, analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, remote configuration, AI infrastructure, and security.
Mixpanel for product analytics in the mobile applications.
YouTube and Google for embedded video playback.
Apple and Google for sign-in, app distribution, and platform services.
Google Gemini for server-backed AI features on supported platforms.

These providers may process information under their own privacy policies or under contracts with us, as applicable.

6. Your Choices

You can manage these technologies through:

Consent controls: where we provide a banner or privacy preference control, use it to accept, reject, or withdraw consent for eligible categories.
Browser controls: most browsers allow you to block, limit, or delete cookies and site data.
Device controls: iOS and Android provide privacy, analytics, advertising, storage, and application controls.
App controls: Novalingo may provide controls for preferences, authentication, or account deletion.
Third-party controls: Apple, Google, YouTube, and other providers may offer their own privacy controls.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal. Blocking a necessary or functional technology may prevent a requested feature from working.

7. Worldwide Users

We offer the Service worldwide. Where local law requires prior consent for non-essential cookies, analytics, SDK identifiers, local storage, or similar technologies, we will request that consent before enabling them. Rejecting consent must be as accessible as accepting it, and consent may be withdrawn through the available preference control.

8. Data Retention

Cookie and similar-technology duration depends on purpose and provider configuration. Session technologies expire when the session ends. Persistent preferences remain until their configured expiry or until you clear them. SDK identifiers and analytics or diagnostic records follow the retention settings described by the relevant provider and our Privacy Policy.

When a web surface uses non-essential technologies, its consent tool or an accompanying inventory will identify the relevant provider, purpose, and duration where required by law.

9. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy when our technologies, providers, or legal obligations change. If a change is material, we will provide notice or request consent where required. The updated policy will state its effective date.
